It is rather sad that some people try to separate the God and the science. It seems that these people feel that Allah has left the world on autopilot or Allah has nothing to do with science. To them any connection of science with Allah is a “superstition”.
They also gives examples of some of great scientists who were haunted for holding un-Islamic beliefs. Nothing could be farthest from truth.
Allah is the Creator of all matter and all science. To say “An earthquake is purely a scientific phenomenon. Therefore, it is wrong to suggest that quakes occur when God wants to punish people for
their sins” is overstatement to say the least. A true messenger of Allah can only issue such statement. As Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was the last and the final messenger, we will have to refer the matter to the book which was given to him by Allah Ta'lah to decide the
matter whether earthquake and similar calamities inflicted upon human beings are punishments or not. Certainly these people cannot be taken as spokesman for Allah Ta'lah.
